First Session. - Conference met according to appointment at Iowa City this 14th day of August, A. D. 1844, at o'clock A. M., in the Methodist Episcopal church.

Religious Services. - Bishop Morris being present, opened the Conference by reading the 5th chapter of lst Peter; singing and prayer.
