Excerpt from Journal of Proceedings of the Eleventh Annual Council of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Arkansas, Held in St. John's Church, Camden, Arkansas, on the 6th, 7th and 8th Days of April, A. D., 1883

April 30 - Sunday, the third after Easter. In Trinity Church, Pine Bluff, I said the morning and evening services, and preached twice. The offertory, amounting to I donated to Diocesan Missions.

May 7 - Sunday, the fourth after Easter. In St. Luke's Church, Hot Springs, I assisted in saying service twice, morn ing and night, and preached twice.

May 8 - Attended morning sex-vice at St. Luke's Church. At night began a very heavy rain, which flooded the valley and interrupted travel on the Hot Springs and Malvern, and on the Iron Mountain Railroads, for about ten days. For nearly a week we had not even telegraphic communication with the world without.

May I4 - Sunday, the fifth after Easter. In St. Luke's Church, Hot Springs, I assisted in saying morning service and preached. At night I preached again; confirmed five persons, and addressed the newly confirmed.
