When Elizabeth King Brownd's home was overrun by mice, a demouser was a priority. After several false starts, two cats arrived, both pregnant - and soon there were fourteen. These cats quickly became the handy models for Elizabeth's work as an illustrator, and you will want to own any of the zany creatures in these superbly painted illustrations. There are cats which visit art exhibitions and the theatre or, for the more energetically-minded, there are cats which like to go bird-watching or hedge-trimming. The facing text mirrors the author's at-oneness with her delightful cats.

Elizabeth King Brownd's unique cat portraits appear on fine art prints and other merchandise throughout the world. Although she has illustrated many previous books, this is her first published writing. She works in a wide variety of mediums, oils, acrylics and watercolour, but her preference is oil which is the medium she has chosen for these portraits. She and her family live on a farm in Mossyrock, Washington.
