Praise for THE DEEP FIELD:

From the Australian praise for The Deep Field:

The Deep Field confirms that this accomplished author is here to stay... a story of loss, betrayal and sacrifice that is fascinating and profoundly tender... a memorable novel which, with its stylistic grace and ease, lingers long in the imagination

Bradley has written a memorable and original novel (The List)

A well-researched and intellectually stimulating read with some beautifully poetic descriptions and imagery (The Big Issue in the North)

Debra Adelaide, The Australian

Bradley has the true novelist's ability to get inside his characters and to observe how their attitudes and responses change and develop... outstanding ability to evoke mood, atmosphere and place... The Deep Field reaches imaginative heights not often encountered in novels these days

Andrew Riemer, Australian Book Review

[James Bradley is] certainly among our most ambitious and talented younger writers... [his style] can oscillate between lyrical set pieces in the Malouf or Ondaatje mode... He can write and he can keep you reading late into the night... the sheer writerly ambition The Deep Field exhibits is huge

Peter Craven, Sydney Morning Herald
Reseña del editor:
Set between Hong Kong and Sydney at the beginning of the next century, this is a novel about time, blindness and chaos, played out against the backdrop of a world poised on the brink of total collapse. Anna, a photographer, becomes interested in fossils and their preservation of form across geological time. She encounters Seth, a blind palaeontologist, whose very different sensory world leads her to new departures in her work. Anna and Seth gradually admit each other into their very private worlds. But Anna's involvement with Seth's sister and her anti-government protests is ultimately to have tragic consequences.
