This book provides a comprehensive analysis of motivational theory and its application at work.

First, the authors set out all the main Motivation Theories in a clear and highly readable format with critical commentary on their relevance. They include leading-edge thinking as well as more traditional theories such as Maslow?s 'hierarchy of needs' and Herzberg?s 'hygiene factors'. The authors then proceed to look at motivation in a practical context. Steve Whiddett, BSc (Hons), MSc, C.Psychol., is a chartered occupational psychologist and partner at Pearn Kandola, Oxford. Prior to joining Pearn Kandola in 1991 he was a senior consultant with one of the world's leading test publishers where he was responsible for development, training and consultancy in job analysis techniques. Steve has specialised in the areas of job analysis, assessment and development for more than 20 years and for most of that time has been a practising occupational psychologist.
