Reseña del editor:
Title: No cross, no crown, or, Several sober reasons against hat-honour, titular-respects, you to a single person, with the apparel and recreations of the times : being inconsistant with Scripture, reason, and the practice, as well of the best heathens, as the holy men and women of all generations, and consequently fantastick, impertinent and sinfull : with sixty eight testimonies of the most famous persons, of both former and latter ages for further confirmation : in defence of the poor despised Quakers, against the practice and objections of their adversaries.

Biografía del autor:
Penn founded Pennsylvania as a "Holy Experiment" under Charles II. He was a well-known proponent of religious freedom and tolerance in England and parts of Europe, specifically as a Quaker. His convictions landed him in jail serveral times. He wrote No Cross, No Crown while imprisoned in the Tower of London. As is the case with most who carry the truth of the gospel so passionately, he spent much time in prison for what he believed.
