After a recess of one hour and a half, the messengers assem bled in the meeting house. The Association was called to order by Elder D. W. Ramsey, the former Moderator, and opened with religious exercises by Elder S. O. Y. Ray.

The letters from the churches were read by Brethren Sam C. Cook, W. H. Watt, J. K. P. Robson and the messengers names enrolled, viz.

The Pine Barren Baptist Association, held its forty-fourth annual session with the Friendship Baptist Church, Pine Apple. Wilcox County, Alabama on Wednesday, Sept. 13th, A. D. 1893.

The annual sermon was preached by Elder J. B. Powell, from Dreutcronomy, 8th chapter and 2nd verse.
