David Pilling was born in Manchester, England, and entered the textile industry at the tender age of sixteen. His family migrated to Australia in 1963 and David worked for Actil in Adelaide for eight years, with involvement in the areas of quality control, industrial engineering and financial development planning. He moved to Melbourne in 1971 to become Operations Director of a medium sized textile company, with increasing responsibilities for marketing and selling. In 1984, he returned to Adelaide and became Design and Development Director of Actil, frequently performing the duties of the Marketing Director. In 1988, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of The Professionals, South Australia. At that time, the group had twenty-eight operating offices and a 6 per cent market share. Three and a half years later, the group had forty-five offices and an 18 per cent market share, and had more than doubled its monthly home sales. The REIA published his first two books - 'The Systems Revolution' 1 and 2 - in 1992 and which became instant successes with all copies sold out. He launched himself onto the circuit as a trainer where he was very successful, giving seminars throughout Australia and New Zealand and also on a smaller scale in the USA and the United Kingdom. While still continuing with his training, David was appointed Managing Director of Roy Western in Perth, a company comprising forty-one offices, where he again dramatically increased the market share. After five years he left to develop Pilling Systems offices. With the launch of this book David returns to the seminar circuit.
