Based on a collection of papers from a major conference, the book examines the allocation of Structural Funds, the money provided for regenerating depressed regions of the EU and second only to agricultural policy in the EU budget, and looks at regional development strategies. The contributors are all notable researchers and practitioners in the field, and give a variety of contrasting cross-cultural perspectives from EU, national, regional and local levels, reflecting both theory and practice.
The volume is timely as there is the major EU InterGovernmental Conference this year on Structural Funds which will increase interest in this area.
