Millionaire's Shortbread - Softcover

The contributing poets in this book were all members of Greg O'Brien's poetry workshop in 1999. They have continued to meet since then and their book title is rumored to spring from the fact that meetings have often been in Clarks Café at the Wellington Public Library, where Millionaire's Shortbread is a regular treat. The collection is a collage, with themes and ideas echoing across the manuscript. The poems sit well together, sharing a tautness and economy of language, with touches of humor and strangeness, and well-crafted and confident writing. They also share feminine and feminist sensibilities.
