Versschmuggel is a landmark collection of the finest poetic German and Scottish voices today. A unique project organised by the Literaturwerkstatt Belin brought together Ryan Van Winke (winner of the Saltire Poetry Book of the Year 2015), Peter Mackay, Anna Crowe, Robin Robertson, J. O. Morgan, Don Paterson, Bjorn Kuhligk, Dagmara Kraus, Odile Kennel, Ulrike Draesner, Katharina Schultens and Michael Donhauser to translate each other's poetry.

Aurelie Maurin was born in Paris in 1975, and studies literature and linguistics in Paris. Since 2000, she has lived in Berlin, where she works as a literary translator, and as a curator and event organiser for various institutions. She is editor of the Versschmuggel series, and of the German-French art and literature magazine La mer gelee.Thomas Wohlfahrt is the founding director of the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin. He has been in charge since 1991. A doctor of literature and music, he has initiated and directed major international projects such as Literature Express Europe 2000, the lyrikline.org website and the poesiefestival berlin. Wohlfahrt is a member of many national and international organisationsand is curator and adviser for various international literature programmes.
