Mavis Gulliver lives on the Isle of Islay from where she travels extensively throughout the Hebrides. Her fascination for islands mainly finds expression in photography and poetry. A regular contributor of illustrated articles for Scottish Islands Explorer magazine, her poetry has appeared in many magazines including Envoi, Iota, Poetry Scotland and Northwords Now. Her work has also featured in several anthologies, notably These Islands, We Sing (Polygon 2011). Her poetry collections are, Slate Voices, a collaboration with Jan Fortune (Cinnamon Press, 2014) and, Waymarks, 2015. Cry at Midnight was her debut novel and the first book of The Hag Stone Chronicles, published in 2014, followed by Clickfinger in 2015.
