Reseña del editor:
The fotonovela, fumetti or photo comic is a popular comics style in many regions, but is still a novelty in North America, despite the conventions of the genre being exploited by most Internet memes. Therefore, Comeau's unique blend of photography, collage and illustration feels unbelievably fresh and unlike anything on the bookshelves. In the tradition of hard, psychological sci-fi like the films of Tarkovsky, Comeau's space exploration tale is as much an exploration of the self as it is of the stars. Winters Cosmos is a slice of punk rock pulp for those who dig gig posters as much as Neil deGrasse Tyson. Winters Cosmos is a graphically avant-garde take on the familiar lonely and maddening space travel tale, with aspects of artificial intelligence. The familiar tropes, however, are fractured, reinterpreted and remixed via Comeau's mixture of media. As appealing to fans of science fiction as it is to those who appreciate avant garde visuals and artistic rule breakers, Winters Cosmos is an island of science fiction strangeness in a sea of staid.
