My First Reading Books help children to consider reading as an enjoyable activity and a valuable source of information in the language learning process from an early age. Reading opens up a new world of fantasy for children, enriches their lives and at the same time, develops their vital language and critical thinking skills. It exposes them to the correct grammar structures and phrasing and helps to build on their spoken language skills and their ability to express themselves verbally in a corect and coherent manner.
The reading activities included at the end of the book have been designed to strengthen basic comprehension skills and help teachers and parents to assess the student's progress.
The book includes an audio CD containing the recording of the story, the activities and a fun song to give the children practise and reinforcement of the language concepts presented.
The Visitor. Helen likes learning new things all the time and Daddy's friend Peter shows her that you don't always need a laboratory to learn. All you have to do is observe the things around you and watch how they change and transform. By observing and deducing, Helen learns what happens to water when we freeze it, what happens to ice when we heat it and where the juice we drink comes from.
