Hardcover. Zustand: Good. [8], 544, [11]p. 39.5 cm folio. Dark brown hardcover boards with blind impressing. Sold "as-is". Binding for spine missing. Book holds together but should be handled gently. Contents are in very good shape. Pages are clean. The Book of Common Prayer was first produced in 1661 and attached to the Act of Uniformity in 1662 under King Charles II. The book was thought lost by 1819 only to be rediscovered in 1867 among the originals of the Act of Parliament. This 1891 lithograph facsimile of the handwritten fair copy of the manuscript was dedicated by special permission to Queen Victoria. At the back of this book is a facsimile of the rear of the original. Visible are the seven holes, through six of which the strings passed to attach the volume to the Act of Uniformity. The Act of Uniformity also has six holes which correspond exactly with the six strings.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 564 p. Rebound in full cloth with spine and cover material saved. Bookplate at front. Foxing on endpapers. Pages untrimmed. This particular volume comes from the library of Sir Archibald Hamilton Dunbar, Baronet of Northfield, Justice of the Peace and Captain of H. M. 66th regiment of the 8th battalion. This facsimile is of the revised manuscript of 1636. One note of curiosity is that the page numbering does not count blank pages. Thus, when one blank page is skipped, such as after p. 44, which side of the leaf is even or odd switches, a result of its nature as a manuscript.
