Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have been heavily rub worn with heavy shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a heavily frayed and spine ends are crushed, with some small splits and chips. Splitting to spine joints and ends. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Zustand: 7. in-8, parchemin ivoire, dos lisse avec titre calligraphié à l'encre, (16) + 520 + (6) + 209 + (41) + 130 + (22) pp. Bonne édition latine de l'Histoire des Francs de Grégoire de Tours par Laurent Bouchel, réunissant plusieurs compléments en partie inédits. La dernière partie constitue l'édition originale de la chronique de Jean de Marmoutier sur Geoffroy d'Anjou (avec une page de titre particulière, P. Chevalerii, 1610) : "Joannis monachi majoris monasterii qui rege Ludovico juniore vixit, historiae Gauffredi ducis normannorum, & comitis andegavorum, turonorum & coenomannorum.". Reliure de l'époque fragilisée, petit manque de parchemin au recouvrement du plat inférieur, manquent les cordons de fermeture, trois pâles mouillures marginales et petit manque angulaire au dernier feuillet, annotations anciennes sur les pages de garde et de titre. Exemplaire en bonne condition.

Cette édition de l'histoire de France par Grégoire de Tours, contient en annexe plusieurs textes sur l'abbaye de Marmoutier. Le 2e ouvrage (ici en 1re édition), est une chronique composée vers 1180 et centrée sur le personnage de Geoffroy V d'Anjou dit le Bel (1113-1151), brièvement duc de Normandie de 1144 à 1150. Jean de Marmoutier, angevin, était au XIIe siècle moine dans la grande abbaye tourangelle.
