MacGregor travelled with his canoe, the 'Rob Roy', nicknamed after his renowned relative, the Scottish outlaw and folk hero.One exciting passage within this work details the episode in which he was taken prisoner by villagers from Al-Salihiyya, near Lake Hula in Northern Israel, who lifted both him and the Rob Roy canoe out of the river whilst he kept them at bay with his paddle.Pasted to the rear free endpaper and pastedown are newspaper excepts concerned with the Rob Roy canoe, and the author of this work.
