Bound to the rear of volume IX is The Summer Fete, A Poem With songs by Thomas Moore, published by Galignani is 1832. No collation available though appears complete. These volumes contain all of Irish bard Thomas Moore's poetical works. To volume I is his famous 'oriental romance' and narrative poem Lalla Rookh. His Rhymes on the Road, Irish melodies, odes and sacred songs are just some of the works that these volumes comprise. Thomas Moore was an incredibly prolific Irish poet and author. He is often considered to be Ireland's national bard and is commemorated in several places. Moore is best remembered for the lyrics of 'The Minstrel Boy' and 'The Rose of Last Summer'. In uniform half calf bindings. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the spines and extremities. Losses to paper covered boards of volume IX and bumping to the extremities of all volumes. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned with damp staining, cockling and water marks to the bottom of pages throughout all volumes, heavier to the first and last few pages, typically to the outer margins. Good. book.

Blue endpapers, all page edges gilt. In very good condition. Corners bumped and rubbed, some rubbing to edges and ends of spines, vol.1 has 2 small chips to top and bottom ends of spine, small crack to bottom end of spine on vol1. Else covers clean and smart. Fading to endpapers around edges. No penned inscriptions. Some mild foxing spots to pages, some areas of random mild foxing where other pages are quite clean, e.g. contents page in vol.9. Else overall very clean and tight copies. 9 vols. Not illustrated.
