Card Covers. Zustand: Very Good. David Hopkins (illustrator). (16pp), pages clean and crisp, stapled soft card covers, staples a little rusty. After Mr Carr's death in 1994 his son and daughter in law carried on publishing his books under the imprint of The Quince Tree Press Joseph Lloyd Carr (1912-1994) described himself as a "back bedroom publisher of large maps and small books, who in old age, unexpectedly wrote six novels which, although highly thought of by a small band of literary supporters and himself, were properly disregarded by the Literary World." Mr Carr who had been Headmaster of Highfields Primary School in Kettering Northamptonshire, regularly called on the Old Hall Bookshop selling us his charming little books and large idiosyncratic county maps. His novels, of which the Harpole Report is the best known, are also well worth reading. These pocket books hover between a greeting and a present. They fit in a common envelope and go for minimum postage. In cold bedrooms only one hand to the wrist need suffer exposure. All the books in this series have 16 pages within coloured card covers and are a uniform size. Size: 5 x 3.75 Inches. Pocket Book.
