Compartments double ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. White vellum inlay on the front cover incorporated into a gilt reproduction of the well known original design used on the cloth bound copies of this volume, within a double ruled border edge. Rear board with gilt double ruled line border. Gilt inner dentelles. Silk endpapers. All edges gilt. The binding is unsigned but is certainly the work of a master bookbinder. It is possible that this volume was bound for the publisher's salesmen of the Studio as a promotional tool.

As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins (neither in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a parody interview with Jackie Kennedy; a look at the Democrats in Chicago; a piece on Eugene McCarthy in New Hampshire, etc. With comix by Kim Deitch and Spain Rodriguez (cover).
