Knapp edited the Boston Gazette in 1824, and established this and the National Republican in the mid 1820's. He was noted for biographical writings (Appleton's Cyclopedia of American Biography). GOOD condition. Minor to moderate chipping and creasing along the fore edge, with a few minor tears. Faint dampstain affecting most of the first several pages and last page. Some waviness to the paper. Interior solid with minor scattered soiling.
