Lorenzo Bellini (1643-1704) was an Italian physician and anatomist who produced this first important contribution to urology, originally published in the seventeenth century. This edition was revised by Herman Boerhaave, a Dutch botanist, humanist and physician who is regarded as the founder of clinical teaching and the modern academic hospital.
