Buch Erstausgabe
First edition; 3 vols, large 4to (42.4 x 32.5 cm); 114 hand-coloured lithographed plates after Edward Neale, some spotting; slightly later maroon half morocco. Edward Booth was a wealthy bird-watcher and sportsman who stuffed his own specimens and mounted them in their natural surroundings in glass cases. It was these specimens, now in the Brighton Museum, which Neale used for his drawings. 'These are very handsome folio plates whose composition is similar to those in Dresser's book' (Jackson).
