The first edition, bound from the parts, with the particularly scarce advertisement leaf retained. Scarce. With twenty two full page plates, collated complete. Illustrated by Robert Cruikshank, an illustrator and brother of artist George Cruikshank. Louis Alexis Chamerovzow was an author, journalist and anti-slavery campaigner. Philip of Lutetia is the last series of the Chronicles of Bastile. In half calf with marbled boards. Externally sound, with rubbing to joints, extremities and spine, resulting in some loss to the leather. Joints are cracked but firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright with scattered spotting. Newspaper clipping tipped in to rear pastedown. Good. book.
