First edition. Small quarto (10-3/4" 8-1/4"). Black cloth stamped with white lettering. Unpaginated. Illustrated with 55 color plates and 1 tipped-in original painting. Edition limited to 1,000 copies, printed by Lettra Press, of which this is #19 of 23 special signed & numbered copies, each with an original watercolor painting. A fine, as new copy. A book of 55 paintings, printed by Lettra Press./ "The original 50 Books + 5 Bastards was exhibited at Equator Books in 2005. These paintings were executed on the book covers of each volume with its contents remaining intact, the cover painting being a reaction to my digestion of each title. The original books have since been dispersed with the exception of the 5 Bastards, which I have kept." (Michael Deyermond, January 2007).
