With one leaf of publisher's adverts to the rear.Interleaved with blanks for the contemporary owner's notations. However, the leaves remain blank.ESTC reference no: T53090.Huxham was a provincial doctor notable for his study of fevers. He published an essay to this effect in 1755 for which he received the Copley Medal.To the preface, Huxham notes that he designed this dissertation for the use of young practitioners in physic, and that it was also published in the second part of the 48th volume of the 'Philosophical Transactions' by the Royal Society. He notes that in this publication he shall also include the description of the method of preparing 'Vinum Antimonii' as he had received several enquiries. In a quarter calf binding, with paper covered boards. Renewed spine label. Externally, generally smart. Minor rubbing to the paper covered boards. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm after the half-title. Former owner's inscription to the title page dated 1841. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages. Good. book.
