Brakell, Typ[ographers], Liverpool, ?Formed by Sir John Gerard mainly from Roman Catholics then serving in the Duke of Lancaster's. The regiment sponsored 32nd Company IY in the Boer War. It was converted to artillery after WW1 and served in WW2 as 106th LAA Regiment. 106th was disbanded quite early in WW2 but its duplicate 149th (Lancashire Yeomanry) served as an anti-tank regiment throughout the war.
