Couverture rigide. Garisson & Morton, 4929. Semelaigne I, P. 140. Waller 2817. Wellcome II, 531; Heirs of Hippocrates, 766.

"The subsequent terminology or separation of the specific types of epilepsy developed gradually in the Nineteenth Century. J.E. Esquirol, psychiatrist at the Salpétrière, wrote in 1815 that attacks alternate in intensity and that there are severe or slight attacks which he (1838) called "le grand mal" and "le petit mal". Although grand mal meant a generalized convulsion, the meaning of petit mal remained vague". McHenry, p.390 Waller 2816; cf. Garrison & Morton 4929 + 4798; Hunter & Macalpine, 731-738; Selesnick, 137-138; Heirs of Hipp. 1268.

Erstausgabe
Bell'esemplare.
