Captain George Edward Thomas Eyston OBE (1897-1979) was a British racing driver, remembered for breaking the land speed record thrice between 1937 and 1939 in his vehicle Thunderbolt; he also won the Segrave Trophy in 1935. Barré Lyndon (1896-1972) was best known for being a screenwriter and playwright; however, during his early career he was a journalist specialising in motor-racing. He penned six novels on the subject of motor racing, as well as films including 'The Man in Half Moon Street', 'The Lodger' and 'Hangover Square'. In the publisher's original binding, lacking a dust wrapper.Contains a full colour plate frontispiece illustration, as well as one hundred and thirty two full plates. In a full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, some fading to the spine and minor shelf wear to extremities. internally firmly bound, the odd spot, pages slightly aged toned but otherwise clean. Very Good Indeed. book.
