Noten
Tall folio. 438 x 275mm. [24]ff. Dull brown cloth, bumped and rubbed, with gold lettering to the front. Autograph manuscript. A few red ink markings. With pastedowns throughout in order to extend the number of staves to each page. While on the teaching staff at the Royal Academy of Music it was the performance of Faning's operetta `The Two Majors' that led to the establishment of the opera class. The Queen's Song reflects more the style of school song which Faning wrote for Harrow School when director of music from 1885 onwards. (N.B. the top choral part is scored for treble voices). Unpublished in full score.
