In-12 (19 x 12 cm.), 300 pp. couverture (illustrée par "Grafoum" et gravée par Charles Baude) conservée, frontispice de Felix Regamey, quelques vignettes dans le texte; demi-reliure de chagrin noir, dos à nerfs Edition originale de ce recueil de trente-six nouvelles. Ernest d'Hervilly (1839-1911), agent des Ponts et Chaussées de son état, est un journaliste, dramaturge et poète parnassien, connu aussi pour quelques nouvelles jugées dignes de citation dans Rétrofictions, l'encyclopédie de la conjecture romanesque rationnelle francophone de Costes et Altairac. Parmi elles, "l'huissier chimiste" ou "Joshua Electricmann" (qui figurent toutes deux dans ce recueil). On y trouve "galvanomaître de maison", "prunelloglass à crémaillère", "vultugraphe", "médicofère", "théotélégramme", "scribographe mécanique", "poétogène" combiné au "vaporstrophe". Petites épidermures, tache marginale sur quelques pages. Peu courant. Langue : Français.
