Frontispiece sepia pastel by Whistler of Venice. Original publisher's cloth binding in dark olive green with slightly faded gilt lettering on leather title label at spine. Neat name on front endpaper in pencil: LG Duke. /Merrymount Press was a printing press in Boston, Massachusetts, founded by Daniel Berkeley Updike in 1893. He was committed to creating books of superior quality and believed that books could be simply designed, yet beautiful. Upon his death in 1941, the Press was taken over by his partner John Bianchi, but ceased operations in 1949./ L.G. Duke (1890-1971) was a Collector of drawings. He was a colleague of Opp and a senior civil servant in the Board of Education. About very good. Slight wear. Spine label slightly chipped.

The custom binding has been rebacked in leather stamped in gold, extremities of covers are lightly rubbed, moderate discoloration on rear cover, else a very good copy, with the text and plates fresh and clean; in custom leather and marbled-paper slipcase which is worn at the extremities. Limited to 150 numbered copies "sur Lafuma" illustrated with an original drypoint etching by Jacques Mauny entitled "Wagon-Restaurant". Inscribed by A.-E. Gallatin, on the second blank front flyleaf in year of publication: "For Ethel King, formidable collector, from Gallatin. Paris, June, 1928.".
