There, he concentrated on talmudic philology and Greek language. One of his only two books in English, Hellenism in Jewish Palestine "illustrate[s] the influence of Hellenistic culture on Jewish Palestine in the first centuries C. After WWII, he directed Jewish Cultural Reconstruction, Inc. , which recovered and restored Jewish cultural objects stolen and damaged by the Nazis.
