Large thick octavo, c.500pp, illustrated, wrappers bound in at rear, recent red cloth with gilt spine titling, handsomely done. Jack & Norman Lindsay and friends 'Australian vitalist assault on English modernism, Edwardian wowsers and the British system of class'. Includes pieces by many Australian writers then living in England, and also by English writers such as Norman Douglas, Aldous Huxley, Sacheverell Sitwell, T.F. Powys and others.
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. Dust jacket in good condition. Minor shelf and handling wear, overall a clean solid copy with minimal signs of use. Includes slipcase in very good condition. The binding suffers moderate loosening due to age and wear, but remains secure and in-tact; the pages are clean and unmarked. Secure packaging for safe delivery. 1.01.

'A deliberately outrageous and iconoclastic "little magazine," whose title was intended to challenge The London Mercury. Like most little magazines it was a complete failure. Only six numbers were planned, and all were published, but they ruined the press' (Cave). With contributions by Norman Douglas, Aldous Huxley, Sacheverell Sitwell, Liam O'Flaherty, among others. Six sections bound in one. Edited by Jack Lindsay and P. R. Stephensen and published by them with the Fanfrolico Press in July 1929. Robert Leeson Jack Lindsay (20 October 1900 - 1990) was an Australian-born writer, who from 1926 lived in the United Kingdom. Percy Reginald Stephensen (20 November 1901 - 28 May 1965) was an Australian writer, publisher and political activist. In a cloth binding. Externally, generally sound but with some bumping and wear to extremities and with slight stains and marks to boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Bright with the odd spot and occasional handling marks to pages. Good. book.

Index at rear. The extremities are lightly rubbed, and the cloth at the spine ends is a bit frayed. There is a 1/4" split in the cloth along the front joint. The text block is cracked at p. 265. With reproductions of 2 Norman Lindsay etchings plus vignettes.
