This 1932 edition, Cambridge only. Jorgenson, 1780-1841, was described by the Australian novelist Marcus Clarke as 'one of the most interesting human comets recorded in history'. As well as his naval exploits he declared Iceland independent of Denmark in 1809 and was present at the first settlement of Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) and is known as the founder of the capital, Hobart.
