An expanded new addition of the the work originally published in 1995. This publication chronicles the rise and fall of the Jewish Anti-Facist Committee (JAC) and the persecution of Jews in the late Stalinist era of the Soviet Union, as exemplified through "Night of the Murdered Poets" and the infamous "Doctors' plot". The author Feodr Lyass (1925-2016) experienced this era firsthand, as he was a prominent Jewish scientist, whose family was involved and was friendly with many of the prominent figures involved. The back of the book contains a dvd of the documentary film "People's Gala Concert" (1991), by Semyon Davidovich Aranovich, which discuss many of the same topics of the book. Text throughout in Russian. Binding with minor bumping and/or rubbing to extremities. Binding in very good+, interior in near fine condition overall.
