Her older brother, Albert Michelson was widely recognized as 'The Father of Theoretical Physics' and who, in 1907, became the first American scientist to win a Nobel Prize, and whose work in measuring the speed of light inspired Albert Einstein. 339 pp. Good overall in green cloth with floral and oak leaf decorations in gold and white, on both the cover and spine (pencilled gift inscription dated Christmas 1908, some wear to the covers, some general edgewear to the covers, both hinges starting).

This very scarce work contains a collection of four novellas by Michelson: 'The Awakening of Zojas' set in a romantically medievalized Italy, describes the invention of a form of suspended animation where the subject of the experiment, a famous bandit, comes to rule Italy.Also 'The Cradle', 'Peach Blossoms' and 'Tares'.
