Near fine in stiff card stock with a die-cut opening on the front cover revealing a self-portrait stereograph of O'Sullivan taken in Panama in 1870.

Printed wrappers with modest tanning and wear, very good or better. The Images and Words Workshop documents the work of Project FIND (Friendless, Isolated, Needy, Disabled) and their effort to improve the lives of elderly, low income residents in Santa Cruz County, California. The book discusses efforts by professionals in the field of social work to assist the community, and includes numerous photographs of the residents and social work volunteers, photographed by students of Workshop. Anita C. Pohlhammer (her copy) was a member of the Images and Words Workshop, and her name is listed with those the other students at the conclusion of the text (about 45 students total). She has also inscribed the book at a later date. "Images and Words: The Making of a Photographic Book," was conducted by Ansel Adams, Beaumont and Nancy Newhall, Adrian Wilson and Pirkle Jones, July 1-13, 1968.
