Erstausgabe
(Hardcover, 1938). 1938 1st edition. Square 8vo (171 x 213mm). Pp87[final 2 blank]. B/w cartoons. Pictorial paper-covered boards. Small paste repair to head of spine, slight foxing to boards and page-edges, free end-papers browned. Good-plus. "Hunting will soon be a thing of the past; it can't last another ten years. It has always been so and always will be. Hugo Meynell told Tommy Moore the first time he came out with the Quorn in 1800, Tommy passed it on to the Red Earl Spencer in the 'fifties, who told me to make the best of it while it lasted as it would be all over and done with in ten years. Still, it's a bold venture to publish a book of hunting jokes." Anecdotes and full-page cartoons. A great book, and rather hard to find. .

pp. 87, (i). Many illustrations in black-and-white. Final four pages blank, 'for your hunting stories'. Publishers pictorial boards, a little foxing at the ends and faintly in a few margins, else a very good copy. *Surpisingly scarce - COPAC only records two copies, in Oxford and at the National Library of Scotland.
