Complete scholarly edition of the Hebrew Old Testament (TaNaKh), edited by Professor Heinrich Opitz. Opening text in Latin, beginning with 8 pages of dedication to "Deo Trinuni, Patri, Filio, et Spiritus," 4 pages expounding on "Serenissimos Principes," and then continues with a preface, in which Opitz explains his method and cites his numerous sources, mostly Hebrew and Aramaic, but occasionally Greek as well. Bible text in Hebrew, with Latin apparatus to aid Christian scholars. Index of Haftarot (additional weekly readings from Prophets) at end. Illustrated half-title page, with a full-page copper plate engraving around descriptive text.
