Based on the 1965 novel by Donn Pearce, who co-wrote the screenplay, about a convict who wins a bet to eat 50 hard-boiled eggs in an hour, and later suffers a failure of communication with the warden. Winner of a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for George Kennedy, and nominated for three others, including Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor for Newman. 10 x 8 inches.
