Antique etching and engraving, 13195 x 130 mm with wide margins. Made on 1794 by Reinier Vinkeles after Jacobus Buys.[NL] Gebruikt als illustratie in: P.A. Loosjes, Vaderlandsche historie, vervattende de geschiedenissen, der Vereenigde Nederlanden (.). Ten onmiddelyken vervolge van Wagenaar's Vaderlandsche historie, dl. 13.patriotten - patriottentijd - paleis het Loo - Willem V - Reinier Vinkeles.
Antique etching, 220 x 120 mm. Some light discoloration on the edges but further in good condition. Made by Reinier Vinkeles after Jacobus Buys. Dated 1796.Een groot aantal gildemeesters onthoofd in de nacht van St. Luciasdag op de Grote Markt te Zwolle, 1416. Een man krijgt het laatste sacrament van een priester, achter hem wacht de beul met zwaard. Rechtsboven gemerkt: XXXV. D1 pl. IV. Prent gebruikt in: Kok, Jacobus. Vaderlandsch Woordenboek. 35 delen. According to the legend, Hasselaer played a crucial role in the liberation of the city of Haarlem from the Spanish siege in 1573. Gemerkt rechtsboven: XXI.D.Pl.VII.Paleis Huis ten Bosch - Willem V (Prins van Oranje-Nassau) - Staten Generaal - Aanbieding aan de koning. Reinier Vinkeles (1741 1816) was een Nederlands tekenaar en graveur. Hij maakte onder anderen boekillustraties, historische prenten, topografische scènes en portretgravures. Zijn stijl verschoof van barok naar classicistisch naar meer natuurgetrouw. Zijn oeuvre wordt geschat op ca. 2.500 prenten.
