Leather. Zustand: Very Good. Various (illustrator). A collection of stunning hand-coloured plates depicting British historical fashion. Including illustrations of ancient Britons, druids, fisherman, and more. Complete with all 25 plates, including the frontispiece. Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Hamilton Smith (26 December 1776, East Flanders, Belgium 21 September 1859, Plymouth) was an English artist, naturalist, antiquary, illustrator, soldier, and spy. In a straight-grained morocco binding. Externally, sound, though with some slight rubbing and bumping. Front joint is starting, though firm, and there is some wear to the head of the spine. Ink spill to the front endpaper, which encroached on the endpapers and pastedown. Front hinge is strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, though with some handling marks and instances of foxing. Very Good. book.
