Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

The second series, covering the period between 1894 and 1901. Written by Sir James Rennell Rodd, a British diplomat who served as British Ambassador to Italy during the First World War. In the original red cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Offsetting to endpapers. Dust wrapper is smart with chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Sunning to the spine of the wrap. The odd spot and handling marks to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Generally bright and clean, with the odd spot, slightly heavier to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed. book.

A very good copy, edges foxed, boards rubbed, lightly soiled, leaves crisp and fresh. Quarter vellum over printed paper-covered boards. Front edge deckled.
