This copy of the standard nineteenth-century British treatise on courts martial belonged to James Ewell Brown "JEB" Stuart, the great Confederate general. (He went on to lead the 1st Virginia Cavalry for the Confederacy in 1861-1862.) Stuart signatures and signed items are uncommon.
