Softcover. Zustand: Good. First edition. Folio. Flexible illustrated green cloth over thin card. Housed in quarter morocco and marbled paper over board clamshell case. Some erosion of the cloth and the cloth is puckered upper right front corner, thin card on front cover displays a modest crack, a good only but presentable copy with the front and back panels of the dust jacket laid in. This copy Inscribed by White: "To Will Marion Cook from his old friend and one time pupil Clarence Cameron White. P.O. Box 271 Charleston, W.Va." Additionally Inscribed by Cook at a later date: "From Will Marion to Isabel". At the time of publication African-American composer and violinist White was teaching at West Virginia State College. He would soon go on to head the music department at Hampton Institute. Cook was himself a Black composer and violinist and student of Dvorak's perhaps best known for his long running musical show *In Dahomey*. An excellent association connecting two noted black composers.
