16 S. und ein doppelblattgroßes Faksimile. 221x135 mm. Aus Carys Press of the Wooly Whale entstammt dieser Rekonstruktionsversuch. ENGLISH SUMMARY: 16 pp. + a double-page facsimile. The first printed civic oath of North America came to light on the first press of the continent in Cambridge, MA, in 1639. The text is recorded, yet no original copy of the document printed by Stephen Daye from Sutton in Surrey is known. The book provides an attempt to reconstruct the appearance of the paper. Cary himself gives some historical notes over the press, while L. Wroth's study concerns the very oath. Cloth, title on front board. Binding very faintly stained, tear (repaired) and folding mark on the 1st page, otherwise very good conservation. Leinenband, Titel auf Vorderdeckel.
