Third impression. Octavo. 608 pages.Inscribed on the half-title page by the author to his publisher Tom Maschler: ''Tom from Patrick''. He has also signed the title-page and dated it ''London 1976''. On the front pastedown is the bookplate designed by Quentin Blake for the Maschler collection. Maschler once told White's agent, ''I can't think of a living author I would rather publish than Patrick White. If you give me the choice between publishing Graham Greene and publishing Patrick White, I would choose Patrick White any day - and then the statement is almost an insult to White.'' This book was inscribed during White's final visit to London.Fine in near-fine dustwrapper, designed by Desmond Digby, slightly rubbed at top edge.
