In 2 Bänden gebunden, 445 u. 387 Seiten, Fadenheftung, Format 13,5 x 21,9 cm, private Halblederbände der Zeit. * Die Zeitschrift erschien monatlich. Jedes Heft i.d.R. mit einem handcolorierten Stich (selten auch mehr als 1 Stich pro Heft). Insgesamt enthalten die beiden Bände 34 colorierte Stiche, durchweg Blumen. Zwei Tafeln wurden herausgeschnitten (für die Hefte June bzw. December 1839). Daneben auch Abbildungen im Text bzw. ein Ausfaltblatt (Lageplan "The Gardens of the Royal Botanic Society"). Auf dem Rücken-Titelschild sind die Bände mit Vol. III u. IV nummeriert, sind aber nicht lückenlos eingebunden. Der erste Band enthält von Vol. III die Hefte 3/1835 bis 12/1835 (Seiten 49-303) sowie von Vol. IV die Hefte 2/1836 bis 8/1836 (Seiten 25-216). Das September-Heft 1836 ist offensichtlich nicht erschienen, da die Seitenzählung im October-Heft 1836 mit der Seite 217 unmittelbar anschließt. Der zweite Band enthält demnach die Hefte 10/1836 bis 12/1836 (Seiten 217-308); daran anschließend Vol. VII mit den Heften 1/1839 bis 12/1839 (Seiten 1-296). Bei jedem Jahrgang sind Inhaltsverzeichnis und das Haupt-Titelblatt vorgebunden sowie auch ein gestochener Schmuck-Titel. Der Einband in grünem Halbleder gebunden mit roten Titelschildern, schöne florale Ornamente am Rücken, marmorierte Vorsätze usw. Erhaltung: Vol. III zeigt größere Einrisse an den Rückenkanten, auch ein Riss quer unterhalb des Titelschilds. Vol. IV zeigt nur einen kleineren Einriss einseitig oben. Bei Vol. III außerdem ein eingetrockneter Wasserrand an der Titelei. Die Colorierung der gegenüberliegenden Tafel ist nicht betroffen. In der Mitte des Buchblocks ein weiterer Fleck am Schnitt, der auch in den Buchblock übergeht (nur der unbedruckte Rand ist betroffen). Das Papier ist aber weder aufgequollen noch wasserwellig. Die beiden fehlenden Tafeln wurden erwähnt. Die Mängel sind im Preis berücksichtigt. Der Preis gilt für beide Bände zusammen. +++++++++++++++++++ Das Foto zeigt die Einbände.
