First. xxvi + 207pp, finely rebound in brown quarter calf, boards covered in handmade paper, original title label onset on red morocco, a very nice binding, pleasing typography, very good condition, Printed for G. Kearsley, London, 1786. * there is no proof, but it has the look and feel of a provincial printing. General Wolfe supposedly said that he would rather have written a single stanza of Gray's than have taken Quebec .

Two volumes. Hardback, 8vo. approx 8.5 x 5.5 inches. In full dark purple calf leather fine bindings. Decorative gilt and blind embossed panelling to boards. Raised banding and gilt decorations to spines, with twin leather spine labels lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good conditions. Some minor surface scratches to boards. Rubbed patches to top ends of spines. Some rubbing to corners of boards. Some light foxing to endpapers. Neat inscription to front of Vol I. ?William Williamson, from his friend, W.W. Douglas, Easter 1840.? Some light mild foxing to frontis portrait with some darkened offsetting to main title page opposite. A couple of minor spots to inside pages. Else very good clean and tight copies. cxiv + 228pp & xiii + 365pp. Illustrated with a B&W Engraved frontis portrait to vol. 1. Gray?s poems and letters, with some letters to Gray.
